This policy explains what we collect when you use kanepaintingohio.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. It covers this website and the forms on it. It does not cover anything you share with us in person, over the phone, or in a signed painting proposal.
In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Kane Painting LLC, a painting contractor serving Akron, Ohio and the surrounding area.
What we collect
Information you give us
You choose what to share. Depending on which form you use, that can include:
- Estimate requests: your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property, and details about the work you want done.
- Newsletter sign ups: your name and email address.
- Job applications: your name, contact details, work history, and anything else you put in the application.
- Photos and notes: pictures or descriptions of your space that you send along with a request.
We ask only for what we need to quote and schedule your work. You do not have to give us anything, but if you leave out your contact details we cannot get back to you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records some technical information on its own:
- Your IP address and rough location (usually city level)
- Your browser and device type
- Which pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and which site sent you to us
- The date and time of your visit
We use this to understand which pages are useful and to keep the site working. We do not try to identify you personally from it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Ours uses them for two things: measuring traffic through Google Analytics, and making the embedded forms work. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, mainly the forms, may stop working properly if you do.

We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to texts, we may send you messages about your estimate, your schedule, and your project. We may also send occasional offers.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
- Opting out of marketing texts does not stop messages about work already scheduled.
- Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything from us.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not share mobile numbers or text message consent with third parties for their marketing.
Who we share it with
We share your information with the companies that help us run the business, and only as much as they need to do their job. Each one is bound to keep it confidential.

We may also share information when:

Your choices
- Email: click unsubscribe at the bottom of any newsletter.
- Texts: reply STOP.
- Analytics: install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser.
- Everything else: email us and ask. See the contact details at the bottom of this page.
Our site does not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because there is still no agreed standard for what a site should do when it gets one.
How long we keep it
We keep customer and project records for as long as we need them to service the work, honor our warranty, and meet tax and insurance requirements. Job applications are kept while the position is open and for a reasonable period after. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and the companies we use to handle forms and customer records keep their own security in place. That said, no website or system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise your information can never be accessed by someone who should not have it.
Children
Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you specific rights. In the past twelve months we have collected these categories of personal information:
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, property address, IP address
- Commercial information: services you asked about or purchased
- Internet activity: pages viewed on our site
- Professional information: work history, if you apply for a job
We collect these for the reasons described above, from you directly and from your use of the site.
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and where it came from
- Get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
- Not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. So there is nothing to opt out of, but the rest of these rights still apply.
To make a request, email or call us using the details below. We will confirm who you are before we act on it, usually by checking the request against information we already hold. You can use an authorized agent, and we will ask for proof they are acting for you. We aim to respond within 45 days.
Other websites
Our site links out to places like Facebook, YouTube, and Google. Once you follow one of those links, their privacy policy applies, not ours. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top when we do. If the change is significant, we will make it obvious rather than quietly swapping the text.
