What Customers Say About Our Work

Nick and his team, Alex and Alec, did an awesome job with painting the interior of my condo that I recently purchased. They were professional and maintained communication throughout the project. There was no evidence that a work crew had been inside, other than for the freshly painted walls. Nick’s estimate was very reasonable. I highly recommend Kane Painting LLC.

Kane Painting was excellent to work with. Very professional, responsive and flexible. They worked with our schedule to paint a few rooms in my in-laws house before we listed it. They did a great job!

Erin J.

We have just finished a home remodel project, and we used Kane Painting for the whole project. We could not be more pleased with the end results. Not only was the painting done perfectly, but the painting crew was professional and neat, and they were able to adapt to a few last-minute changes we requested. I could not give a higher recommendation to Kane Painting.

We get these questions about painting residential interiors a lot. Here are our best answers...

What is the best season to paint interior projects?
Interior projects can happen any time of the year, but we only paint interiors on rainy days during the exterior season. NEVER FEAR! There are always plenty of rainy days in northeast Ohio! If you are sensitive to smells it may be best to wait until we can have the windows open so spring or fall would be ideal, but we do run fans in the winter to help circulate the air. In poorly ventilated areas it may be best to wait due to the humidity created by the paint.
How will my personal property be protected from paint?
For interior projects, we use reusable drops and plastic to make sure the floor is protected and furniture is protected from dust and paint splatter.
Do I need to move everything from the rooms before you paint?
It is best if our customers remove any TVs, pictures, knick-knacks, or anything glass, fragile, or valuable. We handle large items like beds, couches, and tables, so we can place them where we need them. If you need help with moving things due to health conditions, please let us know, and we will be happy to accommodate you.
What color should I choose?
Choosing colors out of the thousands of different possibilities and shades can be the most challenging part of the entire painting process! Lighting, square footage, and shadows can all change how colors look. Whether you are picking colors to evoke specific feelings or selecting modern neutrals to sell a home quickly, choosing the right color is an important part of the process. Generally, you could select a color that complements or contrasts with the dominant hues in the room. You could also consider warm colors like reds, oranges, and yellows for spaces you want to feel inviting and energetic. Meanwhile, cool colors such as blues and greens have a calming effect and work well in a bedroom or bathroom. Additionally, neutral tones like grays, beiges, and whites are versatile and adaptable, creating a soothing, timeless aesthetic.
What are the different paint sheens?
Flat/Matte: Non-reflective, hides imperfections well (matte is less common). Eggshell: Very slight sheen, durable, easy to clean, popular for walls. Satin: Soft, gentle sheen, richer look, good for living areas and trim, easy to clean. Semi-gloss: Noticeably reflective and shiny, durable, easy to clean, great for trim and cabinets. Gloss: Highly reflective, elegant, very easy to clean, used for trim and accents. The best sheen depends on the room, surface, and desired look.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of flat and lower-sheen paints?
Low-sheen finishes, such as flat and eggshell, are more forgiving of defects but can show rubbing and staining more easily.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of higher-sheen paints?
In general, higher sheen finishes are more durable and reflective but also show surface imperfections more readily.
How do I know if I have lead paint?
If the home was built before 1969, it’s possible that lead paint is present in or on your home. Kane Painting must complete a lead test to confirm any suspicions that arise.
How is lead paint dealt with?
Lead-based paint Abatement is a long process that includes completely blocking off areas with caution tape and warning signs, using plastic to cover doorways, vents, and windows to contain any possible dust, using specialized vacuums to help us sand and capture paint dust, using special plastic to wrap up anything, and using special trash bags to dump any dust. Finally, you should perform 2-stage testing in your home to make sure no residue is detected.
